Eskata® in Austin
Eskata® is the first FDA-approved, topical treatment for raised seborrheic keratoses (SKs).
Raised seborrheic keratoses are known to appear in highly visible areas and are therefore a cosmetic concern for many individuals. The ability to treat these raised SKs, topically, without the risk of hypo-pigmentation like we have experienced when using liquid nitrogen to freeze them off, is truly a game changer.
This treatment is relatively quick even if there are quite a few SKs to be treated. Downtime is minor and mostly dependent on the activity level of the individual as well as the area of the body being treated.
The side effects include redness, stinging, swelling, scaling, crusting, and pruritis. Most of the reason why someone wouldn’t want to return to work, etc., would be down to the redness and swelling in the treated area. Other than those cosmetic considerations, there really isn’t a reason why a client couldn’t resume normal activities immediately.
